Visit the garden
The garden is free to enter for all visitors. Access to the garden from Monday to Friday is via the Wheatfield Street public entrance. Weekday visitors must report to reception, which is clearly sign-posted. Weekend visitors should report to the museum via the gates at Tynecastle Terrace to be escorted around to the garden during the times below.
Private plaque unveiling ceremonies are held every month in the garden and those who have purchased a plaque are invited to attend.
We welcome fresh cut flowers placed within the garden by visitors, but in order to protect the carefully maintained plants and surrounding beds, please be advised that plastic, silk or any other artificial flowers or pot plants should not be placed in the garden. Any permanent items placed in the garden, will be moved to the ends of the flower beds and if not claimed, will be disposed of monthly prior to the next plaque unveiling ceremony.
